4TH ANNUAL ISPS CODE PORT USERS AWARENESS TRAINING
HELD THURSDAY 22ND AND FRIDAY 23RD MAY, 2014
The Ports Authority held its 4th Annual International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code Awareness Training for Port Users on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd May, 2014, at the National Stadium. The training was designed to provide persons, in particular, port users, who interface with activities at the ports (cargo/cruise) with basic information in respect of the security at port facilities and the requirements of the ISPS Code.
A total of 41 persons attended the training. Participants included tour guides, taxi operators, water taxis operators and cargo brokers, among other persons. Certificates of participation will be issued to all participants.
The training was facilitated by the National Port Facility Security Officer, Mr. Don McKenzie, Sgt. Francis James, Sgt. Allan Mitchell and Mr. Lazarus Joseph, Senior Pilot.
